Living History
The first major armed campaign for the colonies after declaring independence from Great Britain,
the Battle of Brooklyn (also referred to as the Battle of Long Island) stands as the largest single battle
of the Revolutionary War. As part of the commemoration of the 240th Anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn, members of the First Rhode Island Regiment will meet and greet visitors at the NYH.

Allentown Civil War Encampment and Battle
The annual Allentown Harvestfest Festival will feature outdoor stands lining Main St. , with displays of seasonal foods, crafts, and wares of local vendors and artists.
This event also features a Civil War reenactment held at Heritage Park. The Army encampment opens to the public at 10am. Union and Confederate forces will engage on the battlefield. Life during the Civil War at Landis Valley's Civil War Days!
Make way for cavalry drills and cover your ears during the musket firing demonstrations. Talk to the Ladies' Aid Society, members of the Sanitary Commission, politicians, and other civilians who supported the soldiers and the war effort, as well as Civil War engineers, generals and recruitment officers for the Navy and the Artillery. Games and hands-on activities for kids and horse-drawn wagon rides for the whole family. Lectures and a Civil War fashion show round out the event. Admission: $12/Adults $10/Seniors $8/Ages 3-11 Free for ages 2 & under Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call at 717-569-0401 for information.
